40 Self-Care Ideas

Self-care is something I am extremely passionate about as it pulled me out of a really dark time, taught me to put myself first and gave me permission to begin setting boundaries and saying no.


I always get asked about self-care and ideas so I wanted to share a tonne of suggestions that you could do for self-care this week. Remember everyone is different so just take what feels good for you.



Physical self-care:

  1. Go for a walk.

  2. Have a nap.

  3. Dance around your kitchen.

  4. Drink a glass of water.

  5. Cook yourself a delicious meal.

  6. Moisturise your whole body.

  7. Have a shower or bath.

  8. Buy yourself some flowers.




Emotional/mental self-care:

  1. Cry if you need to.

  2. Journal for 10 mins.

  3. Practice positive affirmations.

  4. Go to therapy.

  5. Take a digital detox.

  6. Unfollow people on social media that make you doubt your worth.

  7. Read a book.

  8. Write a list of all the things you like about yourself.



Spiritual self-care:

  1. Meditate.

  2. Pray.

  3. Ground yourself in nature.

  4. Pull an angel card.

  5. Moon rituals.

  6. Burn incense and cleanse your space.

  7. Reiki healing.

  8. Gratitude list.



Financial self-care:

  1. Get your finances in order.

  2. Get up to date with your bills.

  3. Pay off some debt.

  4. Empty and sort through your purse.

  5. Set a budget.

  6. Start a savings pot.

  7. Read a book about money (I recommend The Latte Factor or Smart Women Finish Rich by David Bach)

  8. Get your pension sorted.


Social self-care:

  1. Call a friend for a chat.

  2. Go for a walk with a friend.

  3. Join a club/community for your hobby.

  4. Write a letter to someone you love.

  5. Have a date night with your partner or friends.

  6. Have a games night with your family.

  7. FaceTime your parents.

  8. Go for dinner with your bestie.
