5 Ways To Have A Better Day

November 14, 2018

Hey beautiful,

Firstly, I want you to know that it is okay and totally normal to have 'off days', where you feel utterly rubbish and have zero motivation.

Secondly, I want you to know that you can choose how your day goes and you can choose how to think, feel and react.

I want to share with you 5 hacks I use for a better day...

1). GRATITUDE

I know some of you may be rolling your eyes right about now but hear me out. As humans we often tend to focus on the negatives; how far we have to go on our fitness journey; how we're sad we just got back from holiday; how long we have to wait until the weekend; how we wish we had a better iPhone. I mean really, can we put on our positive pants for just one second and think of something we are grateful for please? Gratitude seriously is the quickest route to feeling happier and having a better day as you are shifting your energy from negative to positive by focusing on what you have. I mean really, can we put on our positive pants for just one second and think of something we are grateful for please? Gratitude seriously is the quickest route to feeling happier and having a better day as you are shifting your energy from negative to positive by focusing on what you do have instead of getting caught up in what we don't have. It is also to best way of practicing mindfulness as it forces you back into the present.

2). GET OFF YOUR PHONE

We live in a digital era where we could (and probably do) spend hours and hours just mindlessly scrolling through all our social media like zombies. It's nothing to be ashamed of, I'm sure we're all guilty of this on some level, me included! But for a positive, productive and better day, try to reduce your screen time, especially on social media. Whilst obviously I think social media is amazing, it can also be damaging to our self-esteem and mental health if we are consuming and engaging with the wrong things and people. LIFE TIP: only follow people on social media that make you feel good about yourself. Unfollow the ones that make you feel shitty about your body or who you are. Because you are unique and amazing and you don't need to compare yourself to anyone.

3). YOU TIME

Make time for yourself every single day. Whether it’s 5 minutes or an hour, make time. (Yes, you have time stop making excuses). Go for a walk, read a book, enjoy a cuppa, have a bubble bath, whatever it is, take time for yourself, *especially* if you feel like you don’t have time. Self-care is an absolute non negotiable.

4). SOD THE SCALES

Why weigh yourself when you can just roll in glass and feel the same way! Seriously, get off the fu*@ing scales! If you are to weighing yourself every damn day then I want you to get off the sad step today! Just one day, you can do that. Don’t weigh yourself. Don’t let that number define your day. Don't let an insignificant  number value your worth. This will be hard to do if you are a serial weigher but please, just try and go 24 hours without it and you will feel empowered. Promise.

5). LAUGH

Laughter is the best medicine! Whenever I have a rubbish day I watch a TV show (usually Friends) because I know it makes me laugh and that completely changes my mood! So allow yourself to laugh today, whether that’s by chatting with your girlfriends, watching your fave series, listening to a podcast, dancing around in your underwear to your favourite playlist, anything! It's so good for the soul.

Tell yourself you will have a good day today and you will be surprised at how amazing it is. The mind is so powerful, so choose your thoughts wisely and remember life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it!

If you enjoyed this blog or found it useful I would love it if you could share with a friend or let me know what you thought about it on my latest Instagram pic! Have a fab day!

Love Georgia x
