This is important so please read!👇
Both of these pictures are me.....about 5 seconds apart. On the left I am standing up (not flexing) and on the right I am sat down, relaxed.
And it is important that you know BOTH pictures are OKAY. And I am okay with both pictures! Let me tell you why... Not all positions are flattering. Everyone has rolls when they sit down. I work hard for my body. I work hard for my health. There are parts of my body I want to improve. There are parts of my body I wouldn't change for the world. I am proud of my body. I love my body just as it is (as should all of you!)
I didn't always think this way. There was a time when I was a dancer (when I was smaller than I am now) when I would look in the mirror and wish I was skinnier. All the dance models I saw in magazines and online looked so much smaller than me. They all had tiny waists, toned tummy's and beautifully defined arms and legs. I didn't look like them, or at least not in my eyes. Almost 4 years on I am strong, I am confident and I am happy with my body. Which is exactly how I want all of you lovely ladies to feel! I know what it is like to not like your body and wish you looked like someone else. So I know how exhausting it can be.
My point is, it is so easy to become disillusioned by all the 'perfect' models we see plastered over social media, that we think we should look like (we shouldn't). And it is so easy to compare ourselves to these women and put ourselves down because we don't look like them. Our tummy isn't flat like theirs. Our skin isn't flawless like theirs. Our bum isn't peachy like theirs. Our arms aren't toned like theirs. Our legs aren't 1000cm long like theirs. The problem is we often compare our beginning to someone else's middle or end. And we often associate the way someone portrays themselves on social media with how happy they are in real life (but that's a whole other blog right there!) Whilst you're looking at another girl wishing you had her flat tummy, that girl might be looking at you wishing she had your bum.
Stop comparing yourself to other girls.
Stop wishing you looked like someone else.
Stop putting your body down.
You are you! You look like you. So love you and be proud of you!
And p.s. you are pretty bloody amazing.
